167 Place Is The Best New Place In Sofia

167 Place is a new NGO that gives a platform for artists in Sofia to present their work. That platform is in the form of an art gallery that is designed to shift its lighting and ways of displaying, so every exhibition has customized feel and style. On top of the shifting room, there is an amazing yard that will hold all kinds of summer cultural events. I am so excited to see how they are going to take advantage of that.

I couldn’t make it for the opening, but I visited the next day and had the privilege to be the only guest, alongside a friend of mine. A very friendly girl in a dreamy dress greeted us and told us the story about the owner/inheritor of the place who always wanted to turn this beautiful historical house into an art gallery. It’s a truly fresh dream since most of those houses are turned into colourful restaurants, which is not that bad, but it’s not that meaningful either (at least to me).

Intro to the current Exhibition in Bulgarian

As we found out our greeter is the Yohana Trayonva, the artist behind the first photo exhibition called “I am dreaming” that shows unedited photos that feel so familiar, as from a distant dream. There are some amazing details to the exhibition like the soft lighting, the adorable clouds that look so good on Instagram and even the artist’s dress.

The “I am dreaming” exhibition lasts until 31st of May, so I suggest you take this late notice and go check it out. I am sure that the next events would be equally interesting, so you can follow 167 Place on Facebook and Instagram for news and updates.

167 Place is situated on 167 Georgi S. Rakovski st.

and everyone can see “I am dreaming” until the end of May

from Wednesday to Saturday 6-10pm

and on Sunday 12-16pm
